According to security sources, the attackers used a vehicle disguised as an official one in an attempt to breach the security barriers of the headquarters, reported the Somali National News Agency.
Security forces are currently conducting a wide-ranging sweep operation around the headquarters to pursue any remaining attackers and ensure the complete security of the area.
Official sources indicated that they will provide continuous updates to the media regarding the developments of the ongoing security operation.
In 2022, the forces, along with allied forces, launched a campaign to expel the “Shabab” movement linked to “Al-Qaeda” (a terrorist organization banned in Russia and many other countries) from certain areas in the central part of the country, but the movement continues to carry out large-scale attacks.
