In Abu Dhabi, a restaurant has been shut down for breaching the emirate’s food safety regulations.

On Wednesday, August 20, the Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority (Adafsa) announced the administrative closure of Taj Alzumuruda Restaurant in Al Ain. The authority cited violations of Abu Dhabi’s 2008 Food Safety Law and its accompanying rules.

The restaurant’s practices were deemed to pose “a significant risk to public health.”

Adafsa reported that the restaurant received multiple warnings about food safety issues identified by inspectors but failed to address them. Consequently, the decision to close was made to protect public health.

The closure will remain effective until the restaurant implements corrective actions to improve food safety and complies with the regulations. The authority stated that the restaurant can reopen once necessary changes are made.
