The Egyptian Grand Museum confirmed in a statement that it continues to receive visitors regularly according to official working hours since its opening on November 4, 2025. It noted that the flow of visits proceeds naturally and organized, with a significant turnout from Egyptians and foreigners, at a rate of about 15,000 visitors daily.

It clarified that as of December 1, the exclusive electronic booking system for museum entry tickets has been adopted via the museum’s official website, with the suspension of ticket sales from direct sales outlets. This aims to regulate movement within the museum, ensure visitors’ comfort and safety, and preserve the archaeological artifacts, according to the Egyptian General Information Authority.

The electronic booking system is operating efficiently and smoothly, and it is continuously monitored to ensure the best level of service. It was also confirmed that the ticket price differences between Egyptians and foreigners have been applied for years in all Egyptian museums to ensure citizens’ easy access.

In response to circulated videos showing rainwater flooding the hall of the Egyptian Grand Museum and others showing damage to the external floors, less than six weeks after its opening, the ministry clarified in its statement released today, Saturday, that the damage to the floors resulted from preparations for the opening ceremony on November 1, 2025, and that repairs are underway according to a specific timetable without affecting visitor movement.

The ministry also explained that some rainwater leakage into the museum hall is “expected and consistent with the architectural design, which allows for natural light and ventilation, confirming that this does not affect the visitor experience or the safety of the building.”
