American Express Middle East has partnered with Skiply, the leading educational payment app in the UAE, powered by RAKBANK, to offer American Express cardholders a seamless and secure way to manage educational payments across more than 400 merchants, including schools in the UAE.

Skiply’s platform unifies payment options for a broad network of schools, eliminating the hassle of navigating different school payment portals. Users can also purchase uniforms and books and review past transactions. This streamlined solution simplifies payments, providing a smoother and faster user experience.

This partnership aligns with American Express Middle East’s commitment to increasing the locations accepting American Express, allowing customers to use their Cards more frequently for everyday spending. Globally, American Express has around 146 million cards in circulation, accepted at over 108 million merchant locations. Since 2017, the company has more than quadrupled its worldwide merchant locations, highlighting its dedication to expanding its global reach wherever card members live, work, and travel.

Graziela Martins, AEME’s UAE country head and vice-president of Merchant Business Mena, stated: “At American Express, we strive to enhance our card members’ daily experiences by offering more payment options. This agreement with Skiply emphasizes our commitment to delivering digital-first services that cater to our card members’ evolving needs across the region.”

Abdallah Muhana, senior vice-president and head of Skiply and Education Payment Solution, commented: “Allowing American Express usage in Skiply has improved the payment experience for both parents and schools. This step provides families with greater flexibility and more payment options, making the process smoother, faster, and more inclusive.”
