Visitors to Prophet Mohamed’s mosque in Madinah (Masjid Al Nabawi) on November 14 experienced the sacred site, cherished by millions of Muslims worldwide, enveloped in heavy rain while performing the weekly Friday prayer in a tranquil, rainy atmosphere.

Several regions in the Kingdom, including Makkah, Madinah, Asir, and the capital Riyadh, have been experiencing heavy rainfall in recent days. On Saturday, the Saudi National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) issued a red rain alert for Madinah once more.

In Makkah, the weather authority issued a similar alert, cautioning residents and visitors about severe high-speed winds, reduced horizontal visibility, hail, flash flooding, and thunderstorms.

The Saudi General Directorate of Traffic urged motorists to exercise extreme caution while driving in rainy conditions, advising against speeding and swerving, and emphasizing the importance of maintaining a safe distance from the vehicle ahead.

A video shared by Inside the Haramain X, which reports news from the Two Holy Mosques, showcased the appearance of the site following the downpour on Friday. Take a look:

On Thursday, mosques throughout Saudi Arabia conducted a special rain-seeking prayer, following a call from Saudi King Salman bin Abdul Aziz to pray for rain. Similar prayers were recently held in Kuwait and Qatar.

In the UAE, dozens of Muslims also gathered at mosques in October for the same purpose, following a call by President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed to pray for rain.
