Alongside a number of representatives from Arab and international broadcasting and television organizations, journalist Dmitry Tarasov from the ‘Sputnik’ agency will also participate in the symposium. During the symposium, participants will share their field experience in covering the Israeli war on Gaza and the West Bank, and the daily suffering journalists endure while working in a dangerous and complex environment.
It was noted that the correspondents in the Palestinian territories managed to produce more than 5,500 news reports and stories over twenty months, averaging seven news items per day, covering various humanitarian, political, and field aspects in Palestine. The union added that these news materials were made available to member Arab television organizations and included in news exchange packages with European, Asian, and Latin American broadcasting unions, enhancing the Arab media presence on the international stage.
The symposium includes three main topics. Emad Qatata, the media and communication officer at the Arab States Broadcasting Union, invited fellow journalists to attend the symposium and follow its proceedings, noting that the symposium’s themes and working papers were sent via email to all invitees. Qatata emphasized in his invitation that the union continues to develop its field news work mechanisms in conflict areas, stressing that the Palestinian experience represents a pioneering model in responsible professional coverage that combines accuracy, credibility, and the transmission of people’s suffering on the ground.
