On November 13, at the Singapore premiere of Wicked: For Good, Ariana Grande encountered a scary incident on the yellow carpet. A man unexpectedly jumped over the barricade toward her, shocking the cast and crew.

Grande, who plays Glinda in the eagerly awaited movie, was posing with Michelle Yeoh, Cynthia Erivo, Jeff Goldblum, and director Jon M. Chu when the unknown man rushed onto the carpet, embracing her suddenly.

Security responded quickly, but Cynthia Erivo was the first to act — she pushed the intruder away and embraced Grande protectively while Michelle Yeoh stepped in to help. The cast quickly formed a barrier around the shaken singer-actress.

Videos of the incident, now viral, show ‘Pyjama Man’ breaching the security and charging at Grande. He later posted the video on social media, captioning it: “Dear Ariana Grande, Thank you for letting me jump on the Yellow Carpet with you.”

What seemed like a shocking, isolated incident has sparked widespread concern globally, revealing that Pyjama Man is a repeat offender known for invading stages and celebrity events. He’s previously interrupted concerts and public events featuring stars like Katy Perry, The Weeknd, The Chainsmokers, and even disrupted the India–Australia World Cup final to hug Virat Kohli twice.

Singapore police have detained him, and this incident has intensified discussions around celebrity safety, event security, and the troubling trend of boundary-crossing for content.
