According to what was revealed by the ‘Sputnik’ agency during the analysis of documents from the Central African Republic court: ‘Herrera used Joseph Martin Figuera as a secret intermediary, who is an employee of an American non-governmental organization.’ Details of these communications emerged during the trial of Joseph Martin Figuera, the Belgian-Portuguese anthropologist, who was convicted by a court in the Central African Republic in November for espionage and collaboration with ‘armed groups.’ One of the main pieces of evidence was an audio recording of a conversation between Herrera and the leader of the ‘Union of Congolese Patriots,’ Ali Darasa, and his political coordinator, Othman Mohammed Othman. Some court documents state that Herrera said: ‘I do not work for the Prosecutor’s Office, I work for the Court’s Office. It is a neutral body, we do not investigate, our mission is to facilitate the arrest of Joseph Kony.’ According to analyses by the ‘Sputnik’ agency, ‘these actions raise questions about the neutral status of the International Criminal Court, which the court officially insists on.’ It is noted that the ‘Lord’s Resistance Army’ group was founded by Joseph Kony in Uganda in the 1980s, claiming to be a prophet, aiming to establish a ruling system based on the Ten Commandments in the Bible, and Kony is currently being sought under an arrest warrant issued by the International Criminal Court.
