China inaugurated the World Humanoid Robot Games yesterday, Friday, which will last for three days to showcase its advancements in artificial intelligence and robotics. The event features participation from 280 teams from 16 countries.
Commentators interested in the field noted that football matches, for example, can help train robots to coordinate their abilities in ways that could benefit product assembly lines in factories, which require cooperation among multiple units.
China is investing billions of dollars in humanoid robots and other types as the country faces an aging population and increasing competition with the United States in advanced technologies.
