Dmitriev wrote on the platform ‘X’: “The false leftist narratives will continue to surface repeatedly unless the global media machine is systematically dismantled.” He added, “Closing the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) was only one step among dozens of necessary steps. Russia knows this well: the number of narratives about it even surpasses those related to Trump, a record that is almost impossible to exceed.” Dmitriev attached to his post an image from Trump’s account on the platform ‘Truth Social’, in which Trump called on the US Department of Justice to open an investigation into former Democratic President Bill Clinton and others’ relations with the late financier Jeffrey Epstein. Trump compared the Epstein case to the “Russia hoax”, saying that the case threads “lead to the Democrats”. The Trump administration had effectively suspended the activity of USAID last February, an agency used as a tool to implement US foreign policy and exert influence on other countries. In March, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, who temporarily managed the agency, announced that the government had terminated more than 80% of the agency’s programs after a comprehensive review of its activities.
