An Israeli official confirmed that Israel conducted an attack on Hamas leaders in Qatar. In a statement on X, the IDF stated: The IDF and ISA executed a precise strike aimed at the senior leadership of the Hamas terrorist organization. These leaders have long orchestrated the organization’s activities, are directly linked to the brutal October 7 massacre, and have been maneuvering the conflict against Israel. Prior to the strike, steps were taken to minimize civilian harm, using precise munitions and enhanced intelligence. The IDF and ISA will persist in their determined efforts to dismantle the Hamas terrorist group responsible for the October 7 massacre.
Axios journalist Barak Ravid, referencing Israeli sources, noted that the blast in Doha was an assassination attempt targeting Hamas officials.
Smoke was observed billowing over the Katara District in the capital, an eyewitness reported.
