As the UAE speeds up its national sustainability efforts with major policy milestones approaching in 2024–2026, leaders in the private sector are crucial in turning government aspirations into tangible results. At the forefront of this shift is Hotpack Global, a local UAE manufacturer whose active sustainability initiatives set a benchmark for industry-wide change.
The UAE’s environmental strategies, such as the national single-use plastics regulations, Dubai’s Executive Council Resolution 124 of 2023, and the Net Zero 2050 goal, are transforming consumer habits, production standards, and corporate accountability. These strategies aim to cut waste, reduce plastic pollution, encourage circular materials, and push businesses to adopt sustainable solutions without hindering economic progress.
Hotpack’s objectives align perfectly with its long-standing dedication to responsible production. The company has significantly invested in alternative materials, circular systems, and compliance-driven manufacturing to not just meet but surpass the UAE’s increasing sustainability standards.

Abdul Jebbar PB, Group CEO and Managing Director of Hotpack.
“Our sustainability journey is grounded in the simple belief that progress must be responsible,” stated Abdul Jebbar PB, Group CEO and Managing Director of Hotpack. “The UAE’s forward-thinking environmental policies provide companies like ours with a clear path to innovate with intent. We view regulation not as a hurdle, but as a chance to lead.”
Hotpack has already achieved full compliance with all categories of the UAE’s upcoming and current bans on single-use plastics. The company provides paper and multi-use bags thicker than 57 microns, wooden cutlery, plant-based straws, recycled-polymer products, paper cups and lids, and fiber-based plates, ensuring viable alternatives for all restricted items. Importantly, Hotpack does not produce Styrofoam, thus significantly reducing reliance on challenging-to-recycle materials.
In addition to regulatory compliance, Hotpack has enhanced its sustainability impact through investments in renewable materials like PLA, large-scale solar implementations across factories, improved waste-management systems, and responsible transportation projects. These initiatives have earned Hotpack significant accolades, including the EcoVadis Gold Certification (Top 5% globally) and the Dubai Chamber ESG Label – Advanced Category, highlighting its performance across environmental, social, and governance aspects.
Hotpack’s commitment extends internally with initiatives such as the Hotpack Happiness Program, employee welfare improvements, and company-wide ESG training, reflecting the UAE’s principle that sustainability encompasses human well-being and social responsibility.
“The UAE has set ambitious environmental targets, and we see it as our responsibility to contribute significantly,” Jebbar added. “Sustainability is more than a mandate for us; it is part of our culture, our innovation strategy, and our duty to the communities we serve.”
As the nation continues progressing towards Net Zero 2050 and a fully circular economy, Hotpack’s strategy sends a powerful message: when policy direction aligns with corporate commitment, the outcome is not just compliance but long-lasting, transformative change for the UAE and beyond.
