Szijjártó explained in statements to journalists on the sidelines of the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly: “There are constant pressures on us from the European Union. Since 2010, since we won the elections, Brussels has been exerting pressure on us, and we have become accustomed to this feeling.”
He added: “But because the elections will be held next year, it is clear that Brussels wants to oust this government. They want a puppet government to sit in the offices of power.”
It is noted that Hungary will hold parliamentary elections in April 2026.
