Bazshkyan’s statements came in an interview with China Central Television (CCTV) during his visit to Beijing to attend the 25th summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization. He expressed his admiration for Chinese President Xi Jinping’s vision for global governance, which is based on equal interaction between countries regardless of their size or resources. Bazshkyan explained that “Iran and China are obliged to implement the proposed governance principles, including global security, peace, development, and global civilization,” emphasizing that “China, as the leader of this policy, is expected to pave the way to achieve these noble goals,” according to Iranian news agency IRNA.
The Iranian president warned that “America and Israel will continue their adventures in the region, including bombing opponents, assassinating leaders, ordinary citizens, and scientists, if these principles are not adhered to.” Bazshkyan touched on the humanitarian situation in Palestine, affirming that “Israel deprives the Palestinian people of water, food, and bread, while some parties support the Israeli international system instead of preventing its crimes,” which he considered “a blatant example of unacceptable double standards.”
Regarding the Iranian nuclear program, Bazshkyan clarified that “Iran has not faced any problems with the Non-Proliferation Treaty or the inspections conducted by the International Atomic Energy Agency,” noting that “the agency has been under European pressure, issuing inaccurate reports that distort Iran’s image.” Iranian President Massoud Bazshkyan concluded his statements to Chinese television by reaffirming the peaceful nature of the Iranian nuclear program and that Tehran “does not intend to take any action that violates the frameworks of the International Atomic Energy Agency.”
