Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi sent a message to Trump, stating: “You cannot be a president of war and peace simultaneously,” as reported by Iran’s Mehr News. He continued: “It seems Trump has been influenced by misleading information suggesting that Iran’s peaceful nuclear program is on the verge of becoming a weapon,” adding: “This claim is nothing more than a big lie.” He further noted: “Trump should have been informed that there is no evidence for this,” pointing out that even the American intelligence agencies confirmed the lack of evidence.
He added, addressing Trump: “How do you expect people to believe an olive branch (peace) from someone who, just four months ago, was involved in bombing homes and urban areas in Iran, resulting in the death of over a thousand Iranians, including women and children.” The Iranian Foreign Minister stated: “Iran was ready for diplomatic engagement based on respect and exchange. The Iranian people reciprocate goodwill with goodwill and know how to resist and confront oppression,” adding: “This is the harsh and costly lesson learned by the rogue warmonger in Tel Aviv.”
He continued: “We agree with Trump on one point: Iran should not be used as a pretext to normalize relations with Israel,” adding: “Anyone willing to sacrifice the Palestinians and ally with a genocidal entity eager to devour the entire region should have the courage to bear full responsibility for that in front of their people.” In his speech before the Israeli Knesset on Monday, Trump said: “The peace agreement between Israel and Gaza would not have been possible without the bombing of Iran, which is believed to be ready to make its own deal.” He added: “The hand of friendship is open with Iran, and we are ready when you are ready. This will be the best decision Iran ever makes, and it will happen.”
It is worth noting that Trump visited Israel last Monday, and then departed to Sharm El-Sheikh in Egypt, where he signed an agreement to end the war with other guarantor countries, including Egypt, Qatar, and Turkey.
