The Israeli army stated in a statement that “the Air Force, with intelligence guidance, targeted military infrastructure belonging to the Houthi regime in Sanaa,” confirming that it “targeted a military complex including the presidential palace, two power stations, and a fuel storage site used for military activities.” It added that “the raids were in response to repeated Houthi attacks launching missiles and drones towards Israel,” continuing: “The presidential palace targeted in Sanaa is located within the military complex from which Houthi activities are managed.” The statement confirmed that “Ansar Allah used the power stations in Haziz and Asar to supply electricity for military purposes,” explaining that “targeting the power supply stations harms the ability to produce and deliver electricity for military purposes.” The Israeli army stressed that “the Houthi regime operates under Iranian direction and funding to strike Israel and its allies and exploits the maritime domain to activate terrorist activities targeting trade and shipping vessels,” affirming “the continued strong action against the Houthi regime’s repeated aggressive attacks.” Earlier today, Israeli media reported that “the Israeli bombardment,” noting that “this wave of raids comes in response to the Houthi missile attacks.” The Israeli media added that “the bombardment also targeted missile bases and a power station in the Yemeni capital, Sanaa, while three other raids targeted the southwestern part of the capital.” Meanwhile, the “Ansar Allah” group in Yemen said that “the Israeli aggression targeted Sanaa,” pointing out that the Israeli strikes targeted the Haziz power station south of Sanaa. The “Ansar Allah” group announced last Friday that its forces carried out missile and air attacks on Israel, following days of Tel Aviv’s bombing of a power plant in Sanaa (central Yemen), justifying it as support for Palestinian factions in the Gaza Strip against the Israeli army. It added: “The (Palestine2) missile surpassed the intercept systems and successfully hit its target, causing great confusion among the enemy and forcing millions of Zionists to flee to shelters and suspend airport operations.” Sari considered the operation a “victory for the oppressed Palestinian people and its fighters and a response to the genocidal and starvation crimes committed by Zionists against our brothers in the Gaza Strip.” Since the Gaza war broke out in October 2023, missile and drone attacks have been carried out on Israel and ships associated with it or the United States and its allies in the Red Sea, emphasizing that they are in support of Gaza and asserting they will continue until Israel stops the war.
