The statement issued by Netanyahu’s office clarified that the disarmament of southwestern Syria and ensuring the security and safety of the Druze community there were priorities, according to Israeli media. Shar’a criticized Israeli policies, accusing Tel Aviv of threatening Syria’s security since the departure of former President Bashar al-Assad’s government last December, considering that these policies contradict the international community’s positions supporting Syria and its people and could lead the region to further tensions and conflicts.
Shar’a also called on the international community to support his country in facing threats and to respect its sovereignty and territorial integrity.
