In a statement, she said, “I remind the three countries that flaunting strength in the wrong place will certainly bring them dire consequences.” This pertains to the “Iron Scepter” nuclear operations exercises and the joint multi-domain military exercises “Edge of Freedom,” which will take place simultaneously on and around the Korean Peninsula in a few days, with the participation of America and its allied countries, according to Korean Central News.
The South Korean military announced that South Korea, America, and Japan will conduct annual defense exercises called “Edge of Freedom” starting from Monday, September 15th, to enhance air, sea, and electronic operational capabilities against the nuclear and missile threats of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea.
Local media in South Korea reported that Seoul and Washington also plan to organize “Iron Scepter” maneuvers this week, which simulate the integration of the two countries’ conventional and nuclear capabilities against threats from the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea.
Pyongyang continuously criticizes these joint maneuvers, considering them invasion drills, while Seoul and Washington assert that they are purely defensive. The Democratic People’s Republic of Korea often responds with weapons tests.
