Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) is launching its 119th Open Auction for exclusive vehicle number plates. This event will feature 90 unique plates with 2, 3, 4, and 5 digits from codes (AA, BB, K, L, M, N, P, Q, T, U, V, W, X, Y, Z).
Among the auction’s highlights are the “super numbers” — BB 88 and BB 777 — anticipated to draw significant interest from collectors and enthusiasts.
RTA’s auctions for premium plates are popular among residents seeking customization and investors viewing these plates as assets.
The auction is scheduled for Saturday, September 27, at the Grand Hyatt Dubai Hotel, beginning at 4:30 pm. Registration starts on Monday, September 22, and can be done via the RTA website (www.rta.ae) or at Customer Happiness Centres in Umm Ramool, Deira, and Al Barsha.
RTA notes that auction seating is limited, with preference for registered bidders. On-site registration will also be available from 2:00 pm on auction day.
Participants must possess a valid Dubai traffic file and provide a Dh25,000 security deposit (cheque payable to RTA), plus a non-refundable Dh120 registration fee. Payments can also be made by credit card or online.
Plate number sales include a 5% VAT in accordance with UAE regulations.
