Russian President Vladimir Putin arrived in India for a two-day state visit, with the presidential plane landing at Palam Air Base last Thursday evening. A welcome ceremony was held at the airport, and he was greeted by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the foot of the plane stairs.

The Rashtrapati Bhavan, the official residence of the President of India, forms the heart of the administrative complex in New Delhi. The palace was built in 1929 as the residence of the British Viceroy in India, designed by the English architect Edwin Lutyens.

In front of the palace stands the Jaipur Column, a gift from the ruler of the Jaipur principality to the British Viceroy in India. Opposite, the Eternal Garden, formerly known as the Mughal Garden, extends with its design blending Eastern and European styles, including ponds, canals, fountain waterfalls, as well as green spaces, paved pathways, and flower beds.
