Rayhan Thomas from Dubai has made a significant leap in his professional golf career by advancing to the Final Stage of the Korn Ferry Tour Qualifying School, a crucial step towards the Korn Ferry Tour and PGA Tour.
The 26-year-old, representing Dubai Creek Golf & Yacht Club, played four rounds of focused golf at The Landings, Deer Creek in Savannah, Georgia, finishing 13-under-par (275), tying for 15th place.
This score, precisely the qualifying mark, secured Thomas’s place among those competing for transformative opportunities next week in Florida.
During the Final Stage, the top five finishers will earn full PGA Tour cards for 2026, while the next 40 players and ties will obtain full Korn Ferry Tour membership for the 2026 season.
For Thomas, with Indian heritage, this week was about maintaining clear goals and enduring the intense pressure of the sport.
And he succeeded.
A week defined by composure
After rounds of 67, 71, and 67, Thomas concluded with a determined 70 on the Tom Fazio-designed par-72 course on Friday. His final day was a display of steadiness, achieving 16 pars and only two bogeys, without panic or unnecessary risks.
Starting the last round at 11-under, precisely on the projected qualifying line, he made early birdies at four and seven, then maintained his composure with nine consecutive pars to secure his position.
However, Thomas acknowledged that the final moments were tense.
“It was tight at the end, but incredibly relieving,” Thomas said while checking scores on his phone from his car.
“I hit many greens, though my putting wasn’t perfect, but that’s what Qualifying School is about – enduring and advancing.”
Achieving his set target
Ultimately, Thomas confirmed he met his goal.
“I accomplished exactly what I aimed for this week; that’s what matters,” he stated, exuding confidence after completing the challenge.
Thomas was among 22 players advancing from the Georgia site, where Hunter Eichhorn led with 21-under. Notable players like former DP World Tour winner S.Y. Noh, who scored 16-under, also advanced.
Next: Pursuing the PGA Tour dream
Thomas now moves to Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, where the 72-hole Final Stage will be contested at TPC Sawgrass (Dye’s Valley) and Sawgrass Country Club from December 11–14.
A top-five finish would make him one of the few from the region to achieve full PGA Tour status.
Even finishing in the top 40 would secure a full Korn Ferry Tour card, a huge step in the global golf arena.
Currently, he progresses with momentum and confidence, having passed the Q-School stress test with poise. Supported by sponsors Hero, Wilson, Cadillac, and Dubai Basketball, the Dubai-based golfer is just one stage away from the most significant opportunity of his career.
The dream is alive and within reach.
