The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in a statement published by the Saudi Press Agency ‘SPA’ today, Friday, stated that ‘the inhumane ideas and decisions adopted by the occupation authorities confirm their failure to comprehend the historical and legal connection of the Palestinian people to their land and their legitimate right to it according to international laws and humanitarian principles.’
The Kingdom warned that the continued inability of the Security Council to stop these aggressions threatens regional and international peace and security, undermines the foundations of international legitimacy, and portends serious consequences that encourage genocide and forced displacement.
The Saudi Foreign Ministry affirmed that ‘the ongoing Israeli crimes necessitate effective and firm international positions to put an end to this humanitarian catastrophe and pave the way for the implementation of the two-state solution by establishing an independent Palestinian state on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital, in accordance with relevant UN resolutions.’
Earlier today, Friday, a plan proposed by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was approved, which involves occupying the Gaza Strip. A statement from Netanyahu’s office explained that the Israeli army ‘is preparing, under this plan, to occupy the Strip.’
Netanyahu’s plan includes the full reoccupation of the Gaza Strip in phases and the relocation of Gaza City residents to the south, according to Israeli media. This plan represents a new phase of escalation against the Gaza Strip by the Israeli army, which has been conducting extensive military operations against the Strip since October 2023, resulting in about 61,000 deaths and more than 152,000 injured, according to Palestinian Health Ministry statistics.
