The letter was received by Abdulrahman bin Ibrahim Al-Rassi, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Multilateral International Affairs and the General Supervisor of the Ministry’s Public Diplomacy Affairs, during his meeting today, Wednesday, at the Ministry’s headquarters in Riyadh with the Russian Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Sergey Kozlov.
This communication comes in the context of the growing relations between Saudi Arabia and Russia over the last decade, where the partnership between the two countries has evolved from a limited level to broader cooperation covering energy and regional policy areas.
Previously, Russian President Vladimir Putin held a phone call with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, during which he informed him about the results of the Alaska Summit talks he had with US President Donald Trump.
The statement confirmed that in the political, commercial, economic, and investment fields, both sides expressed their high appreciation for joint work within the framework of “OPEC+” to ensure the stability of the global energy market.
