Tristar’s team in Uganda has successfully launched the fuel hydrant at Entebbe International Airport’s passenger terminal. This milestone marks Tristar’s comprehensive coverage of the airport as the open-access fuel farm operator for all oil marketing companies (OMCs) through the new fuel storage facility and hydrant pipeline system.
The fuel farm and hydrant at the cargo terminal began operations in early 2025, following a 25-year Built-Operate-Transfer (BOT) agreement between Tristar Group and the Uganda Civil Aviation Authority (UCAA). Designed to meet JIG, EI, and IATA standards, the facility has a 12 million-liter storage capacity, with an additional 4 million-liter tank under construction, increasing total capacity to 16 million liters. It features advanced 24/7 operational SCADA control systems and a Leak Detection System for the fuel hydrant.

Anil Parri, Tristar’s GM for Fuel, stated: “We are delighted that the project is fully operational for all OMCs at the airport. The commissioning of additional fuel hydrant stands ensures faster and safer aircraft turnarounds and reduces fuel bowsers congestion on the tarmac. I am confident in our well-trained team, committed to satisfying customers with smooth operations and timely delivery of quality fuel to all partner airlines.”
Eugene Mayne, CEO of Tristar Group, commented: “This is a significant day for Tristar, reinforcing our position as a preferred partner in Africa’s aviation industry. We aim to expand our presence by developing supporting fuel infrastructure that boosts economic activity, offering top-notch services for efficient and safe movement of goods and services across the continent.”
