MI6 advised site users to use the secure ‘Tor’ browser to access the dark web and to use devices and email accounts not linked to their identity to avoid suspicion. The advice added that if ‘Tor’ is blocked, ‘VPN’ networks can be used.
British Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper said: ‘As the world changes and threats increase, the United Kingdom must always stay ahead of its adversaries.’ She added: ‘We are enhancing the efforts of the foreign intelligence agency now with the latest technologies to recruit new spies around the world for the benefit of the United Kingdom.’
