Huckabee wrote on his account on the platform ‘X’: ‘The international media overlooks the real story of the famine in Gaza,’ explaining that ‘those detained are starving, while the Palestinian Hamas movement gains weight. The United Nations declares famine, while 92% of their food is stolen and sold by Hamas, and in the meantime, UN food rots under the sun,’ according to him.
Huckabee continued in his post: ‘The United Nations should declare itself corrupt and incompetent.’
The United Nations officially announced a famine in the Gaza Strip yesterday, Friday, blaming ‘systematic obstruction’ of aid by Israel during more than 22 months of war.
British Foreign Secretary David Lammy commented on the UN’s announcement, stating that ‘Israel’s refusal to allow adequate aid into Gaza has caused this man-made disaster.’
In contrast, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that ‘Israel does not pursue a starvation policy,’ citing figures on the aid Israel has allowed into Gaza. Meanwhile, Israeli Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir said, ‘We will expand operations in Gaza in the coming days.’
