United Nations – Sputnik. The other fourteen members of the Security Council voted in favor of the resolution on Thursday, while Washington used its veto against it. The resolution, drafted by the ten non-permanent members of the council, called, among other things, for an “immediate, unconditional, and lasting ceasefire in Gaza,” and reiterated calls for the immediate release of all hostages still held by the Palestinian group Hamas. Additionally, the resolution urged Israel to lift all restrictions on the entry of humanitarian aid into the territory and ensure its unhindered distribution to civilians.
