Trump explained in press statements that “the United States supports continuing the pressure on Hamas,” indicating that “he does not believe Hamas should continue in Gaza.” The American president emphasized “the necessity for Israel to decide what it will do next and whether it will allow Hamas to remain in Gaza,” noting that he had a good conversation with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Sunday.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated earlier today that operations will continue to eliminate what he described as the “remnants of the Iranian axis” and to liberate all hostages, according to him. Netanyahu’s statements came during the opening of the new Knesset Museum in Jerusalem, at the site that housed the Israeli parliament between 1950 and 1966.

The Israeli Prime Minister had declared on Sunday that he is “determined to end the war quickly,” pointing out that “to that end, he ordered the military to reduce the timeline for controlling the city of Gaza.” Netanyahu said that “the decision made by the mini-security cabinet is crucial in eliminating ‘Hamas’,” adding that “Hamas’s conditions for reaching an agreement are conditions of surrender, and we will not accept them.”

Netanyahu instructed the army to “take control of the last strongholds of ‘Hamas’, primarily the city of Gaza, and reduce the timeline for controlling the city of Gaza,” indicating that he intends “to eliminate the Hamas movement, not perpetuate it.” He confirmed that “Israel will impose security control and establish an alternative civilian rule that does not include Hamas or the Palestinian Authority,” noting that his country “will surprise ‘Hamas’ in various ways and has the ability to eliminate it.”
