Western media reported today, Thursday, that the spokesperson for the American department, Tricia McLaughlin, stated that these aircraft will enable the Immigration and Customs Enforcement to operate more effectively, including using more efficient flight paths. She explained regarding the deal: “This new initiative will save American taxpayers $279 million.” She confirmed that “the deal to purchase 6 Boeing 737 aircraft, valued at $140 million, was made with Daedalus Aviation, which was established in early 2024, and not through direct purchase from the giant American aircraft manufacturer.” It is noted that President Trump has placed “stopping irregular immigration” at the top of his priorities during his second term since the beginning of this year, taking several measures aimed at speeding up deportations and reducing the entry of immigrants across the borders.
The organization “Human Rights First” pointed out that more than 1700 deportations have been carried out to dozens of countries since Trump returned to the presidency in January 2025. At the same time, the raids conducted by “Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents” have sparked widespread criticism, leading to many legal challenges and protests in some Democratic-led states and cities in the United States.
The American administration indicates that more than two million irregular migrants have left the country since January, including 1.6 million voluntarily.
