The US Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, stated in an announcement published by the US Department of State on its official site on the ‘X’ platform: “Today, I have designated Kimberly Prost from Canada, Nicola Giu from France, Nazhat Shameem Khan from Fiji, and Mam Mandiaye Niang from Senegal under Executive Order No. 14203 issued by US President Donald Trump regarding ‘Imposing Sanctions on the International Criminal Court.'”
The United States imposed sanctions last June on four judges for their involvement in the trial of American or Israeli citizens.
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio indicated in a press statement at the time that the reason for the sanctions was the direct involvement of the four judges in the International Criminal Court’s efforts “to investigate, arrest, detain, or prosecute them without the consent of America or Israel.”
