The eagerly awaited Wynn Integrated Resort at Marjan Islands is progressing as planned, according to a senior official.

“We are committed to launching the resort by 2027, and everything is on track,” confirmed Abdulla Al Abdouli, CEO of Marjan, in an exclusive interview with Khaleej Times. “A lot of progress is visible on-site, and March 2027 is fast approaching.”

The resort, a collaboration between Wynn Resorts from the US, Marjan, and RAK Hospitality Holding, has reached the 61st floor of its 70-storey structure as of August. In 2024, Wynn Resorts received the UAE’s first commercial gaming license, marking its debut in the MENA region.

Tourism Growth

Abdouli highlighted that the resort will notably boost tourism in Ras Al Khaimah. “This is among the largest projects in the UAE and eagerly awaited in the region,” he stated. “It will add 1,542 hotel rooms and over 22 dining and lounge experiences, attracting more visitors to the emirate.”

He also mentioned the broader economic benefits. “The Wynn resort will offer unique experiences, necessitating additional residential and commercial spaces. Numerous businesses will emerge, playing a crucial role in Ras Al Khaimah’s economy.”

Recruitment is ongoing, with 78 job openings listed as of September 21. In April, Wynn onboarded 80 employees and plans to increase this to 300 by year-end.

Slated for a 2027 opening, the $3.9 billion Wynn Al Marjan will be the region’s first integrated gaming resort. Situated on a private island spanning over 60 hectares, it extends into the Arabian Gulf.

According to Wynn Resorts CEO Craig Billings, the UAE’s gaming market has the potential to reach $5 billion. While the resort’s gaming features are highly anticipated, it will also offer a wide range of non-gaming amenities.

RAK Development

Abdouli spoke to Khaleej Times shortly after the completion of infrastructure works in Ras Al Khaimah’s newest community, RAK Central, was announced by master developer Marjan. Set to be the largest business district in the Northern Emirates, it will welcome its first businesses by 2027, followed by hospitality and residential projects.

He emphasized Ras Al Khaimah’s continued growth and investment potential. “The Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority aims to attract over 3.5 million visitors by 2030,” he remarked. “Achieving this requires more hospitality facilities and active real estate investments, including hotels and apartments.”

The emirate is working on new master plans and residential projects to ensure sustainable growth. “We base our research and development on scientific methods, analyzing supply and demand. Once a master plan is launched, it benefits all stakeholders, ensuring a 30% development margin for developers.”
