Bollywood star Abhishek Bachchan is grieving the loss of his make-up artist, who had been with him for over 27 years.

On Instagram, the actor penned a touching tribute to his long-time make-up artist, Ashok Sawant, who passed away on Sunday.

In his heartfelt message, Abhishek described his enduring bond with ‘Ashok dada’, not just as a colleague but as “part of the family”.

“Ashok dada and I worked together for over 27 years. He did my make-up from my first film. He wasn’t just a team member; he was family. His elder brother Deepak has been my father’s make-up artist for nearly 50 years,” Abhishek Bachchan wrote.

He remembered ‘Ashok Dada’ for his love and care during film shoots.

“In recent years, his health kept him from being on set, but he checked on me every day. He ensured his assistant took care of my make-up. He was loving, gentle, and always smiling, with a warm hug and delicious snacks like ‘namkeen chivda’ or ‘bhakar wadi’ in his bag. We lost him last night,” Abhishek shared.

“Thank you, dada, for your love, care, dignity, talent, and smile.
