On Friday, Abu Dhabi authorities unveiled a detailed Abu Dhabi Beach Guideline, setting a foundation for upcoming beachfront projects.
This guideline establishes stringent standards that harmonize ecological conservation with accessibility, ensuring public spaces remain inviting while protecting natural landscapes.
Dr. Saif Sultan Al Nasri, Acting Undersecretary at DMT, stated: “By merging innovative ideas with strict protections, we’re crafting spaces that, in accordance with the Year of Community, will enhance the lives of residents and visitors for years to come.”

The guideline emphasizes ease of access for all ages and abilities, featuring ramps, adaptive play zones, and fully-equipped amenities.
It also details an array of thoughtfully designed services, such as inclusive restrooms, prayer facilities, family picnic areas, sports fields, and smart parking solutions.
Guidelines for essential infrastructure such as walkways, bike paths, retail kiosks, lifeguard stations, and mobility aid rentals are included to create interconnected spaces that invite year-round enjoyment.
Safety and navigation enhancements, including traffic calming measures, targeted lighting, and clear signage, are also addressed in the guideline.
