Moscow – Sputnik. The representation reported on its Telegram channel that the decision includes launching a pilot project to integrate artificial intelligence services into the Algerian healthcare system, utilizing the national archive of medical images. The project encompasses the largest hospitals, as well as medical facilities in remote southern areas, using the image archiving and communication system of the Russian company Comita, where 50 university hospitals will be connected to the artificial intelligence services of the ‘Third Opinion’ platform.

Olga Yakovleva, the digital attaché of the Russian trade representation in Algeria, described the Algerian economy as ‘dynamically growing,’ adding that ‘Algeria is striving to digitize many industries and is open to cooperation.’

This development comes in the context of strengthening bilateral partnership, as the Speaker of the People’s National Assembly of Algeria (Parliament), Ibrahim Boughali, emphasized in early October the importance of enhancing economic cooperation between the two countries and activating broader partnerships that include the fields of industry, agriculture, and scientific and technical exchange.

In mid-June 2023, Russian President Vladimir Putin and Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune held talks in Moscow and signed a joint declaration outlining several areas of bilateral cooperation. The package of documents included a declaration on enhancing strategic cooperation between Russia, which Putin described as ‘opening a more advanced new phase’ in bilateral relations.

The presidents pledged in the declaration to develop direct communications between their national financial and banking institutions, enhance cooperation aimed at increasing reliance on national currencies in trade, and create banking channels for secure and independent cross-border transactions.
