Air India Express has resumed direct flights between Lucknow and Ras Al Khaimah, providing significant relief to thousands traveling from Uttar Pradesh to the UAE for work, business, and education. Previously suspended for several months, this route will now operate three times weekly in both directions.
An Air India Express spokesperson confirmed to Khaleej Times that tickets have been on sale since December 8, with bookings available for all routes.
According to the airline, Flight IX-124 will depart from Lucknow’s Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport at 9:10 PM and arrive at Ras Al Khaimah International Airport at 12:30 AM local time. The flights will be available on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.

The return flight, IX-125, departs Ras Al Khaimah at 1:30 AM, arriving in Lucknow at 6:45 AM. It will be available on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. Economy fares start at approximately Dh1,020, and business class fares at about Dh3,060.
Passengers welcome the change
The resumption has been warmly received in both the UAE and Lucknow, especially by those who previously had to transit through Dubai or Sharjah due to the lack of direct connections.
“For years, I had to fly into Dubai and then take a taxi to Ras Al Khaimah,” said Shabbir Ahmad, a worker residing in Al Hamra. “A direct flight from Lucknow saves me time, money, and a lot of hassle.”
A university student traveling back to the UAE this week stated that the new service will simplify long journeys for thousands.
Aviation experts suggest that the reinstated route will benefit not only migrant workers but also entrepreneurs and tourists from Uttar Pradesh and nearby states.
Travel agents report a growing demand for direct flights to the UAE. “Passengers have long requested this option,” said a travel agent in Dubai. “Ras Al Khaimah is rapidly becoming a tourism hotspot, and the new service opens more opportunities on both sides.”
