A law firm in Al Ain was convicted of deceiving a client and has been mandated by the Al Ain Court of Civil, Commercial, and Administrative Claims to reimburse Dh503,591, emphasizing the UAE judiciary’s firm stance on fraud prevention.
According to court documents, the plaintiff sought the firm’s assistance to reclaim his funds but was misled into believing his case had been resolved. He was directed to transfer funds to a bank account given by the firm, eventually handing over Dh503,591. It was only later that he discovered the deception.
After filing a criminal complaint, the firm was fined Dh5,000 for unlawfully acquiring the plaintiff’s money. With this evidence, the plaintiff pursued a civil case for repayment, additional compensation for both material and moral damages, and legal interest.

The court determined that the evidence, including the criminal charge and bank transactions, clearly proved the firm’s misconduct. “When adequate evidence is submitted, the court is not obligated to conduct further investigations or consult experts,” the ruling stated.
The court ordered the firm to repay the entire amount to the plaintiff, excluding legal interest from the repayment. This decision acts as a caution to clients and firms regarding the repercussions of fraudulent behavior in financial transactions.
