The Algerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed in an official statement on the platform ‘X’ that ‘this famine is not the result of emergency circumstances, but rather the outcome of planning and management by the Israeli occupation.’ It is linked to projects for displacing Palestinians and reoccupying Gaza as part of what is called the ‘Greater Israel Project.’ As a member of the Security Council, Algeria affirmed its ‘commitment to intensifying its diplomatic efforts to support the Palestinians and to work on ending this tragedy, pushing towards the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital, to ensure justice and end the conflict.’

The United Nations Food Security Phase Classification Program issued a statement today, Saturday, announcing that the Gaza Strip is officially in a state of ‘catastrophic famine.’ An official confirmed that this is ‘a direct result of Israel’s deliberate actions,’ describing the use of starvation as a tool of war as a ‘war crime.’
