A source in Sanaa told Sputnik that a security force affiliated with “Ansar Allah” raided the “Oxfam” organization headquarters on Wednesday evening on Hada Street, southern Sanaa. They detained several local employees, interrogating them before releasing them today. The raiding force also confiscated technical equipment, including a “server” containing the international organization’s projects, along with its private communication network.

Since the end of August, “Ansar Allah” forces have repeatedly stormed several United Nations offices and headquarters in the Yemeni capital, Sanaa, carrying out multiple detentions of local or foreign UN employees. They have released some of them after accusations of espionage for Israel and involvement in the assassination of the group’s Prime Minister Ahmed Al-Rahwi and nine of his ministers by Israeli airstrikes on Sanaa late in August, which the United Nations completely denies.

The ongoing war in Yemen, until late 2021, has claimed the lives of 377,000 people and inflicted cumulative economic losses estimated at $126 billion. Meanwhile, 80% of the population, around 35 million people, are in need of humanitarian assistance, according to United Nations reports.
