Dubai Municipality has denied rumors circulating on WhatsApp about an illness spread by shisha users.
Reda Salman, director of the Health and Safety Department, stated to the Arabic news site 24 that the illness known as “sol” is not spread by shisha users.
The municipality has not received any health alerts regarding this issue in the UAE.
He emphasized that the municipality has implemented all necessary safety precautions, requiring cafe owners to provide single-use shisha tubes for customers.
“Our primary goal is to prevent the spread of illnesses through such means in cafes and coffee houses,” Salman added.
