This came during a press conference following the meeting of the Arab League Council at the ministerial level on Thursday evening, as reported by Egypt’s “Al-Shorouk”. Aboul Gheit pointed out that there is an Arab agreement to move in two directions: “seeking to stop the war of annihilation while preserving the Palestinian state project.” He noted that this decision summarizes the Arab position and emphasizes the principle of the sovereignty of Arab countries and non-interference with them. It also reaffirms the necessity of resolving the Palestinian issue based on the two-state solution as the only way to end regional tensions.
Ahmed Aboul Gheit stressed that the decision includes “the impossibility of relying on the permanence of any arrangements for cooperation, integration, and coexistence between the countries of the region while the occupation of some Arab lands continues, or if they are covertly occupied or annexed.”
The residents of the Gaza Strip are suffering from unprecedented levels of hunger, with UN organizations warning of widespread famine and rising death rates due to malnutrition, especially among children, patients, and people with disabilities. From October 7, 2023, to September 2 of the current year, the war on Gaza has resulted in the death of about 64,000 Palestinians and approximately 161,000 injured, according to data from the Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza.
