This step comes amid reports of a possible visit by Netanyahu to Argentina in September. The complaint was filed by Argentine lawyer Rodolfo Yanzon and the director of the ‘Palestinian Center for Human Rights’, Raji Sourani. In July of last year, Argentina announced that it had designated the Palestinian Hamas movement as a ‘terrorist organization’ and ordered the freezing of its financial assets, making it the first Latin American country to take this step. It added that ‘this is the first time the decision was made out of a political will to do so.’ The statement continued: ‘Argentina must once again align with Western civilization.’ The office of Meili also pointed out that the reason for the decision was the attack launched by Hamas on Israel on October 7, according to a Western news agency.
