The ‘Libya Al-Hadath’ channel reported that ‘medical sources confirmed the deaths of two people and three injuries as a result of armed clashes in the city of Zawiya.’
In a related context, the Libyan Ambulance and Emergency Service announced the injury of a citizen during the ongoing clashes in the city of Zawiya.
The city of Zawiya, located southwest of the capital Tripoli, is experiencing tensions, raising residents’ fears of escalating violence.
Zawiya is one of the most important cities in western Libya, suffering for years from competition among armed groups seeking to control vital facilities and economic resources.
Despite efforts to calm the city, the repeated armed clashes reflect the magnitude of the security and political challenges facing the authorities, amid the ongoing impact of political divisions on the security situation in Zawiya and its surroundings.
