Moscow – Sputnik. Italian police arrested Sergey Kuznetsov (49 years old) on Thursday in the Rimini province after he arrived in Italy for a holiday with his family. Dmitriev wrote on the ‘X’ platform: “Don’t forget the fabricated stories that have been exposed. Traditional media claimed that Russia blew up Nord Stream – a ridiculous allegation that Russia undermined its own energy infrastructure.”
He added, “It’s a case study in narrative manufacturing: who funds, who formulates, who amplifies? The same mechanisms are used to reproduce misinformation repeatedly.”
The Nord Stream and Nord Stream 2 gas pipelines experienced explosions in September 2022. At the time, Germany, Denmark, and Sweden pointed to the possibility of the explosion being an act of sabotage. The Russian Prosecutor General’s Office opened an investigation into the attack as an international terrorist act, while the Kremlin confirmed that Russia repeatedly requested information from the countries conducting investigations but received no response.
