Asia-Pacific Amateur Championship 2025 Set to Begin

The 16th Asia-Pacific Amateur Championship (AAC) is ready to tee off at the Emirates Golf Club’s Majlis Course from October 23rd to 26th, 2025. This prestigious 72-hole tournament will showcase the skills of 120 leading amateurs from 41 countries within the Asia-Pacific Golf Confederation (APGC).

Playing over 7,289 yards at par 72, the UAE will be represented by six talented players: Rayan Ahmed, Rashed El Emadi, Sam Mullane, Jonathan Selvaraj, Ahmad Skaik, and Mohamed Skaik. Late invitations were extended to Rashed El Emadi and Mohamed Skaik by the tournament organizers.

Competing countries include Bahrain, Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Oman, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia. Ahmad Skaik expressed at a local media event, “I made the cut in this tournament in 2021 when it was held at Dubai Creek Golf & Yacht Club. It’s a prestigious tournament, and I am eager to perform well. I’m ready for Thursday’s opener.”

Rayhan Ahmed, a standout player in the UAE following recent victories at The Els Club and the Tommy Fleetwood International Pathway Series, shared his enthusiasm, “I’m excited about this week. After resting over the weekend post my wins, I feel confident. With many friends competing, it’s less intimidating than my debut in Japan last year.”

Since its inception in 2009 by the Masters Tournament, The R&A, and the APGC, the Asia-Pacific Amateur Championship has been a catalyst for nurturing golf talent in the region.

The tournament has launched the careers of stars like Hideki Matsuyama, Cameron Smith, Takumi Kanaya, Keita Nakajima, and many others. Collectively, AAC alumni have amassed 33 PGA Tour wins and over 160 victories in major professional tours, underscoring its role in developing future champions.

Admission to the tournament is free, and spectators are encouraged to attend.
