Following the resignations of the BBC’s director and head of news on Sunday amid bias accusations, US President Donald Trump expressed approval.
He labeled them as “very dishonest people” after the BBC’s Panorama program edited parts of his speech to make it seem like he was inciting the January 2021 Capitol Hill riot.
Pressure on the BBC increased after a leaked internal report, cited by the Daily Telegraph, highlighted shortcomings in its coverage of the Israel-Hamas conflict, Trump’s speech, and other matters.

In last year’s Panorama documentary, Trump was depicted telling supporters to “walk down to the Capitol” and “fight like hell,” though he had actually said they would “cheer on our brave senators and congressmen and women.”
In a social media post on Sunday, Trump accused the BBC executives of attempting to sway a US presidential election.
“On top of all this, they are from a Foreign Country, which many consider our Number One Ally. What a terrible thing for Democracy!” he remarked.

He admitted the role’s intense demands influenced his decision to step down during these challenging times.
