Seoul police have arrested a woman in her 40s after she attempted to trespass at BTS member Jungkook’s home, marking the second such incident there recently.

Yongsan Police reported that the woman entered the underground parking lot of Jungkook’s building around 11:20 PM on Saturday by slipping in behind another car. A security guard, vigilant on CCTV, noticed and alerted authorities. When questioned, the woman reportedly gave unclear answers, claiming she was there to “visit a friend.” Her true intentions are still under investigation.

This incident follows a similar one in June, where a woman in her 30s from China tried to access Jungkook’s property just hours after his military discharge. She was caught attempting to enter the building’s door code and allegedly told police she had traveled to Korea specifically to meet Jungkook. Prosecutors are now involved in that case.

These repeated incidents underscore the problem of “sasaeng” fans—those who go to extreme lengths to get close to their idols.

The Korea Herald notes that South Korea’s anti-stalking law, enacted in 2021, imposes penalties of up to three years in prison or fines of 30 million won (approximately $21,000). If weapons or dangerous items are involved, the penalties can increase to five years or fines of up to 50 million won.
