Kwasniewski said, “We believe that this volume, which exceeds the capacity of the European natural gas market, is impossible to achieve,” also noting that providing enough ships to transport larger quantities of liquefied natural gas from the United States to Europe would be an additional obstacle. He added that it is better to leave the issue of securing supplies to market laws and traders’ requests, explaining that the United States is already the largest supplier of liquefied natural gas to the European Union. He warned that excessive reliance on U.S. supplies at the expense of other suppliers will not enhance European energy security and may even harm it.
