On Tuesday, residents of Qatar reported scenes of chaos as Israel launched attacks targeting Hamas leaders in Doha. Videos circulating on social media captured people fleeing the streets, with thick smoke visible in the distance.
Mariam, a PR executive at Palm Tower in West Bay, described the frightening experience. “I was about to log out when I heard a loud noise. Initially, I thought it was a car crash in the parking lot or construction noise. Then, a second, even louder explosion followed, causing panic,” she recounted.

“Colleagues on higher floors could see smoke from The Pearl Qatar,” she added. “We were all confused until the first news alerts came in. Panic spread quickly, and everyone was frozen in fear. We are too scared to go outside right now. We just want to be safe.”
A Qatari resident, who requested anonymity, spoke of his struggle to get home amidst the chaos.
Sumi, another resident from Dhukkan, far from the city center, shared her concerns. “We were heading to the grocery store to stock up on essentials,” she said. “We’re worried about what the next days might bring, so we want to be prepared.”
