Sharjah authorities have reported a 22% decrease in crime rates during the first half of 2025, compared to the same timeframe last year.
This decline is a “positive sign of the success of the emirate’s security system in achieving its goals and fostering a sense of safety and assurance among citizens and residents,” stated Brigadier Ibrahim Al Ajil, Director General of the General Department of Comprehensive Police Stations in Sharjah.
The reduction in crime reports is attributed to the continuous efforts of security personnel, who work tirelessly, the implementation of advanced checkpoints, ground patrols, and comprehensive field deployment strategies, according to authorities.

Sharjah Police have also heightened awareness campaigns to bolster a culture of cooperation and alertness among the public.
This success also underscores the effectiveness of preventive strategies and the collaboration between security forces and community efforts, emphasized Brigadier Omar Boualzod, Director General of the General Directorate of Criminal Security and Ports at Sharjah Police.
In the first six months of this year, specialized teams have been working to establish strong partnerships with various government and private organizations.
They have also initiated targeted campaigns to educate the public on emerging crimes, such as electronic fraud and behavioral offenses, noted Brigadier Omar.
