In a conversation with ‘Sputnik’ radio, Dawla explained that ‘the scene in Gaza and the West Bank entrenches the policies of occupation and there are no signs of stopping the war.’ He added that ‘there is no American decision to end the war in Gaza; they want to turn the Palestinian issue into a humanitarian one, while we are the people with a cause and existence.’ He also pointed out that ‘Netanyahu is only seeking to recover his captives to continue his war, whereas Hamas insists on negotiating alone without including us, and we only learn the details of the negotiations through mediators.’
Dawla emphasized that ‘the Palestine Liberation Organization is the legitimate representative and the unifying house,’ considering that ‘the ideal option today, alongside comprehensive popular resistance, is a genuine international will that goes beyond the American cloak, to implement international legitimacy and end the occupation.’
Regarding the situation of Palestinian camps in Lebanon, Dawla stated: ‘Lebanon has stood by our people, and it has the right to enforce its sovereignty and organize the weapons in the camps. We are committed to any decision made by the Lebanese state, and we will not be an obstacle to its stability. We will work to organize the internal situation of the camps with great responsibility, considering their complexities.’
Earlier, the Palestinian Fatah movement, today, Friday, expressed its strong rejection of what it described as hostile statements and political and media overreach issued by some leaders of the Palestinian Hamas movement towards both Egypt and Jordan. It affirmed that ‘these statements do not represent the Palestinian people and do not serve their national cause; rather, they harm Arab-Palestinian relations and weaken the unified national stance supporting the legitimate struggle of the Palestinian people.’
The movement, in a statement issued by the Media Commission, stressed that Egypt and Jordan have always been a true support for the Palestinians throughout various stages of their struggle, from the 1948 Nakba to the present day, according to the Palestinian ‘Wafa’ news agency.
